Our Mission Action Plan

"Welcoming all and sharing God's love with all in our community"

At St Martin’s....

  • you will find a warm, friendly, inclusive welcome
  • we meet together to encounter God in different ways to help one another grow in faith
  • we would like to transform lives by showing God’s love to all in our local community and in the wider world

We have four priorities to help us live out our vision of the church we believe God wants us to be:

To make our priorities a reality, we will be doing the following things over the next few years:

A GROWING CHURCH:

  • Growing Play and Praise
  • Strengthening links with uniformed groups
  • Supporting existing toddler groups
  • Building stronger links with baptism families
  • Continuing to work with Greenside School
  • Exploring the admission of children to Holy Communion prior to Confirmation

A NURTURING CHURCH:

  • Developing a more regular pattern of nurture courses and Quiet Days and encouraging more to attend
  • Offering opportunities for reflective prayer
  • Promoting worship opportunities during the week for those unable to attend on Sundays

A SERVING CHURCH:

  • Starting ‘Place of Welcome’ for members of the local community
  • Running a holiday club in partnership with Greenside School for families who struggle financially
  • Having a more visible Christian presence in the Church Hall

GOOD RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER CHURCHES:

  • Continuing to build relationships with St Andrew’s and to see more people attending events and services in each church.
  • Ongoing involvement in activities with Droylsden churches (such as Foodbank, Nativities Festival); exploring whether there are ways we can pray together for our town
  • Exploring the development of stronger relationships with St Mary’s so that there might be a viable Christian presence across the whole of Droylsden with a range of church traditions in years ahead.

Gracious Father

revive your church in our day,

and make her holy, strong and faithful

for your glory’s sake

in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
